Paula Faris
Paula Faris, an American journalist,
previously worked as the TV reporter at ABC News. She is best known for her
stint as cohost of Good Morning America Weekend, 2014-2018, and as host of The
View, 2015-2018. Before that she was the co-anchor on America This Morning
(World News Now) as well as America This Morning (America This Morning). After
graduating, she worked in several communications-related jobs including an
operations position at Mills/James Productions in Columbus, Ohio. The position
she held was in sales for radio, due to the lack of television opportunities.
She eventually found work for one year as a producer assistant at WKEF/WRGT and
later occasionally anchor and report. She was the weekend anchor and weekday
sports anchors at WCPO TV, Cincinnati, from 2002 until 2005. She became a
reporter for sports for the NBC's Chicago affiliate WMAQ-TV from November 2005
until December 2011 after her contract was terminated. She was appointed by ABC
News' news division in December 2011. She made her network debut on January 2,
2012 on ABC's World News Now, and America This Morning. She was a correspondent
as well as substitute for Good Morning America during this time. Later, she was
elevated to become a New-York-based reporter for all ABC News programs. Her
final episode of World News Now and America This Morning was January 22 in
2013. On September 9, 2014, she debuted as co-anchor on Good Morning America
Weekend, after the departure of Bianna Golodryga. The latter was transferred to
Yahoo! News. ABC announced that she will join The View as a cohost for season
19. The contract was renewed by ABC to run its 20th season on the 3rd of
August. She was also renewed as co-host for Season 21. During the series' 21st
and 22nd seasons she was mainly on screen during the series' Friday-night
episodes.
