Sofia Margarita Vergara, Spanish was born on 10 July, 1972. She is an actress presenter, producer, model and TV presenter from Colombia. Vergara was America's highest paid actress from 2013 until 2020. Vergara gained prominence hosting two Spanish-language TV shows for Univision in late 1990s. Chasing Papi (2003) was her first big acting performance in English. In the following years, she starred featured in Four Brothers (2005), Tyler Perry's Comedies Meet the Browns (2008) and Madea Goes to Jail (2009 that earned her an ALMA Award nomination). She first made her mark with ABC's comedy show Modern Family in 2009. For this role, she was honored with four Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards. Her voice-overs included Happy Feet Two (2011) and Escape from Planet Earth (2013). She was also a part of The Emoji Movie (2017). Vergara was also a highest-paid Hollywood actress in the year 2020. Vergara is a judge on America's Got Talent since 2020. Vergara was born to an Roman Catholic family in Barranquilla. Vergara's mother Margarita Vergara was a homemaker and her father Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo was a cattle rancher. She was nicknamed "Toti" by her siblings as well as many cousins. Vergara was a dental student for three years at the National University of Colombia, but she left just two years away from finishing her degree to pursue opportunities in modeling and show business.
